It's just that a human holding out their arm is never going to be as stable and precise as a human resting their arm on a desk. The gyro of a Wiimote (and Joycon for that matter) is every bit as precise as an optical sensor on a mouse. Still, the only reason why a mouse is better at aiming than a wiimote is because of the stability of a desk. Although I assume requiring people to press a button to move the mouse was too confusing for the average consumer. It's clearly the superior way to play an FPS on the controller. Like wise even if the options were available to do this in game I think you'd still have unhappy customers now being required to tune their controllers to be so sensitive in order to remain competitive.Īs far as the wiimote video goes, personally I think it's a shame that developers never setup an FPS to play like this. If you were to configure the controller to behave like Gen1us sets it up by default I think you'd have a lot of unhappy customers. It's possible on console however whether or not the developer wants to provide the player the tools to do this in the game is another question.
